We were woken up by loud rain and thunder our last morning in Vejlvy Fed, Denmark. I guess even the heavens were sad to see us go!
The kids played a interesting game of pool with their cousin, Betsy. I might be taking Betsy to a pool hall soon. She has some talent:)
On our drive back to Copenhagen - the kids got hungry. So, we stopped at a Burger King. Our last lunch in Denmark - of course we should stop at Burger King!
They did have this cool spinning light fixture.
This could so be New England!
Last time over the $35 bridge. Yes it cost $35 dollars each way - I don't think I will be complaining about the Mass Pike tolls anytime soon!
We were able to stop and my aunt and uncle's home for a few hours. It was great to be able to say goodbye to our amazing Danish family! We will miss them so much.
The 'grown up' sticking out her tongue is Cecilie, my cousin, who just graduated from Gymnasuim. That is basically our version of high school. We are so proud of her!
I do just love the graduation caps!
And look who we ran into at his grandparent's home - yes that is our favorite Icelandic
Markus! And he totally remembered us!
He has such a way with the ladies:)
I am just crazy about this kid!
We made our way to a hotel near the airport. Since, we had a flight out the next day - it made things easier for us. Our evening was fun. We ate at the hotel's restaurant. It was an eventful dinner when the grill on the patio started on fire, and we got to see the hotel staff putting it out. They were so calm - even when one tourist (not me) started taking pictures of the fire. The chef came to our table a few times because he was very concerned that Emma was happy with the pizza he made her!
It was hard to sleep - We were all excited about going home!! It had been such an amazing trip, but we were all ready to be home. It is true - "there is no place like home"
