If there is one thing the Betsy loves in this world it is dogs. Preferably huskies, but as she showed us yesterday - any dog will do especially if it is a puppy!
We started our day off at the home of a young Iditarod racer. We able to see how he raises his dogs and interacts with them. These dogs love him. It was a fun stop - and we learned a lot about how hard, expensive and time consuming racing here in Alaska is.
Some of the dogs resembled a few of our relatives!
| We learned that some of the best race aren't even huskies! |
This sled actually raced in the Iditarod last year!
And then came the PUPPIES!!!!!
These puppies are only 2 weeks old.
| Betsy called her puppy - Rex |
| Zac called his puppy - Thor |
It was hard to leave, but never fear more adventure was coming soon
Next came a helicopter ride to the Punch Bowl Glacier
The conversation in the helicopter went something like this -
This is so Awesome, This is so cool! |
| We made it to the glacier. |
| Chinnook was so happy to see us! |
| This is my mom on the front and Betsy on the back - they were jamming! |
| A family the dog sleds together - gets there fast! |
And then came more PUPPIES. These puppies are 4 weeks old and are calling the glacier home for the summer
| I think she was a little excited? |
Zac is going to get a job putting puppies to sleep on glaciers. I am sure there is a big demand for that...
