Water In The Streets and Water From The Sky

We made it into Venice today. At the bus stop we met an American teacher, Jessy Castle, from Phenox.  She gave us some great tips on getting around Venice. We took her advice and water bused our way around the city.

Our first glimpse of Venice.

Venice seems to have no bad angles.  Choosing from the 300+ pictures today was hard.  Here are just a few sights we say

This is San Simeone Piccolo it is an imitation of the Pantheon in
Rome.

Gondola Parking - it was lunch break!

The kids were starving, so we stopped at the first restaurant we saw.  No I am not kidding we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe!

There are Lions all over Venice.  They represent St Mark.  Zac started looking for them.  I mistakenly told him I would give him .10 euros for each one he found.  I am out 18 euros.

After lunch, we walked to Piazza San Marco

Zac eyed the pigeons and then...

ATTACK!

Then the cheesy but fun gondola ride.  45 minutes of a little touring and serenading from our gondolier.  We had a good time!

Rialto Bridge

This is where Mozart stayed when he came to Venice!

This is Venice's version of a one boat garage.

After the gondola ride it started to pour.  It rained and rained!  So we made the best of it

Gelato!

The pigeons loved Frank, but not Zac.  They must know he chases them!

They say getting lost in Venice is fun - not in pouring rain with 3 hungry kids!  But we found our way and the weather cleared.

For you Cars lovers!

Ouch!

We then had a truly authentic Italian meal - yummy!  Max got is his italian food...

Good Night Venice!
